WOW Made in Philadelphia

WOW Collaborative info

Prior to March 31st, 2009 the
four of us had never met.
On that day we were paired
together by the curators of
"Offerings", an exhibition at the
Little Berlin gallery in Phila-
delphia, with the goal of pro-
ducing a collaborative contri-
bution to the show. We had
10 weeks, $50 and our com-
bined skills to make it
happen.

On June 5th,
Philadelphia was presented with
WOW.

WOW Made Possible by: LITTLE BERLIN

PREMISE OF "OFFERINGS" SHOW
The exhibition is a collaborative group project featuring 80 Philadelphia artists. These 80 artists are then divided into twenty groups of four. Each group will present an original work in our gallery in June 2009. The groups are comprised of artists who either do not know or have no working experience with each other.

The intent of the show is to further connect the people living and working within the artistic community in Philadelphia, and open new possibilities for them in their process.
In the hope that the artists use and integrate the resources they have available to them within the city to create a work. Whether it be a personal skill, a material, a location, or other people, through this process of working the group members are introduced to new places and people in the city that become options for them in the future.

WOW Van (Result of Collaboration)

WOW Van at Little Berlin Gallery.
Philadelphia, PA
This is the result of several meetings of Brainstorming.
Basic building blocks of the collaboration were...
1. Keep it simple.
2. Unconventional Presentation.

Big Thanks to Joe and Bill for loaning us their Van and allowing us to paint it, (and for the burgers!)

Delivery-Stack

Skid and Stack of Packages ("Delivery") were left behind in the Gallery for the duration of the show. They serve as a return "Offering" to the Little Berlin Gallery. We are very grateful for having had the opportunity to step outside of ourselves and to work as a group in this way. It was really a very gratifying experience.
